Apocalypse Earth - The Threat from Space

Is the World under threat from collisions from Space? If so, how soon could this occur? ...and more importantly, what can be done to avoid disaster?   For almost as long as we have been around as a species, we have regarded the arrival of comets in our skies as bad omens or harbingers of doom - and for very good reasons.  Come to Halton Lea Library to find out more.

Mark Rosney of Planet Preternatural presents “Apocalypse Earth - The Threat from Space” on Thursday 10 May at 7pm at Halton Lea Library.

Titanic and the Liverpool Connection - Free Talk

Titanic sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912 and caused the deaths of 1,514 people. She was registered at Liverpool but never made it to her home port. Yet Liverpool is inextricably linked with the Titanic, after all, the city’s name is on the bow.

One hundred years later, almost to the night, Author Lee Walker talks about the eerie coincidences surrounding the loss of the Titanic, and its connections to the city of Liverpool. Lee is author of Dead of Night - An Illustrated Compendium of True Life Ghost Stories, Urban Legends and Unexplained Phenomena from the Haunted Heart of Merseyside. If you enjoy a spine-tingling read with more than a smattering of moments when you laugh aloud, then Dead of Night is a must.

Join us for this free event at Halton Lea library on Thursday 19 April at 7pm.
